What is Book Sanctuary?
Book Sanctuary is an e-Publisher that provides opportunities to writers to sell their work; we are particularly open to new, previously unpublished writers. Part of this project is to provide a meeting place for debate and discussion on literature, and stimulate social networking via mediums such as Twitter, Facebook and MSN messaging.
What is an eBook?
An eBook is literally an electronic book. You can read these electronic books on PCs, iPads, branded eReaders such as Sony Reader, Amazon Kindle and Cool-er Reader, and eBooks can also be viewed on some mobile phones using eBook apps.
Why Publish an eBook with Book Sanctuary?
The key principle behind Book Sanctuary is to give writers to opportunity to share their writing and utilise networking on the internet. You receive a 50% net royalty for sales via the Book Sancuary store, while at the same time your book is affordable for readers, around £4 for a typically sized novel. We are also offering a publication option to also publish your eBook on the Amazon Kindle store; as Amazon receive 30% of these royalties, your net royalty for these sales is 60%.
Perhaps you are currently unpublished or between publishers, and this site gives you a chance to share your writing without being committed or restricted to Book Sanctuary alone. Such is the nature of the terms and conditions that you can still explore avenues with conventional publishers while selling copies of your eBook on Book Sanctuary. The online community is paramount to this site, and we want to stimulate debate and encourage interaction between readers and writers that will help all to share your writing. It costs nothing to publish on this site, and we want to develop an exciting community of book lovers.
How do I read an eBook?
You can either read an eBook on the eReader devices suggested above or via apps on mobile phones. The typical method of reading an eBook on your PC is to use Adobe Digital Editions; please see our special 'Adobe Digital Editions' article in the FAQ section of the site.
What are the most common file types for eBooks?
The format used most widely by major publishers is .epub format; the Amazon Kindle, however, does also utilise the .mobi format. Epub format works on almost all major eReader devices and mobile apps, as well as Adobe Digital Editions. EBooks are also commonly read in .pdf files.
