How to Publish with Book Sanctuary

E-mail Print PDF

Welcome to Book Sanctuary.

We have established this site for all book lovers, readers and writers, critics, and supporters. We offer you the opportunity to publish your work as an eBook while retaining all intellectual rights and full control over your book should you wish to explore avenues such as print publishing. We offer this with no charge and a royalty rate of 50% net profits on Book Sanctuary sales. You receive 60% net profit royalties from Amazon if you also opt for publication on the Amazon Kindle Store, due to the extra costs of publishing on this framework. The structure for registration and publication is as follows:

If publication is agreed the registration for file conversion and publication will be split into three options:

  • Free - Once publication is agreed, this includes the setup of your author's profile, as well as the conversion and publication of your eBook into .pdf; epub; and .mobi formats. The Book Sanctuary Team will conduct a review of your book, prior to inclusion on www.booksanctuary.co.uk, but feedback will be modest and will primarily advise if we'd like to publish the book. Once approved, you will need to agree to the publication terms and conditions. At present there are two publication models; the first agreement is non-exclusive and is Book Sanctuary publication only, while the second agreement includes Amazon Kindle store publication. The relevant documents can be found in the Submissions section of the website.
  • Proofreading services - Should you wish to have a piece of your writing professionally proofread, this will be charged on an hourly or word count basis, depending on the most economical option for your piece. This fee will include a comprehensive proofreading service, the definition of which can be found in the 'Proofreading' section of this website.
  • Transcribing - pricing tbc, we also have an experienced transcriber who will be able to type up a recording for you, or even type hand-written submissions if desired.

Publishing your work on Book Sanctuary is easy:

Once your work is published you will enjoy a number of benefits:

  • Your book cover will be included with your product in the store.
  • A synopsis, either written by you or our team, will provide the perfect background for your book.
  • You will be able to write an 'Author's Profile' that can be read by prospective readers interested in your book.
  • Readers will be able to review and provide feedback on your work.
  • Your book will be marketed on the Book Sanctuary website as well as social networking sites Twitter and Facebook. We will also continue to develop our connections and marketing opportunities to share your work.
  • You will receive a royalty of 50% of net profit on Book Sanctuary sales, with 60% net profit of Kindle Store sales.

We have an onsite forum, including an 'Author's Soapbox', where you can lead discussion and debate about your work. Also, in the near future, we will be organising regular 'Meet the Author' sessions via web chats, giving the Book Sanctuary community an opportunity to meet and discuss literature. You will be able to apply for the opportunity to be the focus of one of these sessions. And finally, as one of the published authors you will have the opportunity to be involved in the upcoming eZine on the website.

We want Book Sanctuary to be a literary community, and to give you every chance of selling and distributing your work. Please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with any further enquiries.
